Great times with family and friends!

Last Monday, our good friend Noah took Clint and I out to an area where we had a couple mule deer doe permits.  Being the excellent guide that he is...  Clint and I each harvested a beautiful mule deer doe
Then for Thanksgiving, Mom spoiled us rotten and had us over for a delicious dinner!  She really went all out and true to form, I think we all overindulged a little!  :)  Here is Grandma's helper doing a quality control check!
The turkey was like something you would see on a cooking show!  Nice work mom!!!! (and it was very delicious as well!)
The boys did a fantastic job holding down the chair and engaging in "fuzzy sticks" (aka pipe cleaners) art.
Then about two weeks ago, Clint was gracious enough to watch the kids one cold morning so I could sneak out to the River property.  Well, look who just happened to be out there as well!!

That same day, the kids and I (Clint had to work... bummer...) went to St. Thomas for their annual Open House.  It's always a great time!  The kids got to decorate cookies, play with playdough, see Santa, and build a little project.

A few more awesome hunts!

The last couple weeks have been pretty eventful.  We were fortunate enough to have Bill and Sheri here for a nice visit... While they were here, Clint and Bill made it out and harvested a great buck for Bill.  Here are a few photos from their day!

The deer were up on a butte and the boys had quite the crawl to get into a spot where they could shoot.  Bill made an excellent shot, and he had a nice 4x4 mule deer on the ground!

Then Clint and Brock headed up to some of our favorite stomping grounds.  They had a great day hiking around, looking for deer.
They saw this nice raghorn bull.
Then Brock worked his magic and shot a nice mule deer buck!  I think he was pretty excited!

 Nice work Brock!!!!
 Two happy guys!

November is flying by and we are enjoying it!  We've got a few more hunts to enjoy so hopefully we will have a few more pictures to post soon!

Coolest outfits on the block!

Grammy made the kids amazing outfits for Halloween!  Kimber was a beautiful princess and Dane was a knight!  They had a wonderful time trick-or-treating and received lots of compliments on their awesome outfits!  Thanks Grammy!

Here is Kimber with glowing glasses she borrowed from Nana.
I think Dane is saying something like "ah mom, not another picture!"
Then I told him that we weren't going until he cooperated.  So, he stood still and even tried to smile!  But, of course I couldn't get Kimber to stand still at the same time!  :)

General Season Opens with a Bang!

Wow, that was a really clever title...  don't ya think???  :)

Yesterday, was opening day of general rifle season.  We got permission to hunt out on some property that is owned by a really nice couple who lets us hunt out there each year.  The weather was truly outstanding, a little chilly in the morning, but just perfect.  After a nice stalk shortly after first light, I was able to harvest a beautiful doe.
Then we hiked around the property, played in the grass, leaves and water, and had a very enjoyable few hours.

 Daddy's girl!
Then it was Clint's turn so I hung out with Kimber, and Clint took Dane on a nice long crawl to see if they could get a doe.
Success!!!!  Another beautiful doe!  Nice work boys!

All in all it was a truly fantastic day!  Good family, good weather, and good hunting!  Who could as for more???

Antelope hunting and a new pet!

Two weeks ago Clint took Kimber antelope hunting outside of Harlowton.  It is kind of a long story, but Dane and I didn't end up going down there.  Being the dedicated, passionate man that my hubby is...  he still harvested a beautiful doe!  Even with the added handicap of a crying 3 year old clinging to his back with her hands under his coat as he was belly crawling to get a shot!  But, luckily her discomfort was very short lived and they had a really nice time overall!  Not to mention they brought us home some delicious antelope!

Here is Kimber with their "speed goat"!

Then we found this guy, and made him our new "pet".  Not really the cute cuddly type, but he is super interesting.  We named him Stanley so he wouldn't be intimidating!  (Yes, he did eat that goldfish you see below him!)  Want to read more about this guy?  Click here!

Cake balls are delicious!!!!

I have the best helpers when I make cake balls!  Not only is it fun, but I have great company too!

First you have to make sure the cake batter is delicious!

Then you bake the cake, break it all up, and add more goodness to it!
I will post pictures of the finished product at a later date!

A great visit with the Baums!

Jeremy, Kristi, Hannah, and Katie came and visited us a couple weeks ago.
I don't have nearly enough pictures to share...  the visit was amazing and it was so good to see their family!

The kids got along well and had so much fun playing.  Kimber and Katie are helping me make popcorn in this picture!
and here are all the kids eating the popcorn!!!  YUM!
Jeremy and Clint had a great time catching up, telling stories, and planning future fun!  I just loved this series of pictures!  I think Clint was in the middle of a good story! :)

Falling Behind... :)

In between the last post and now, we have had some fun, I traveled to Anniston, Alabama for work, and the Baum family came and visited!  Whew!  Crazy, fun, busy!
Here are some pictures of our fun trip to the Gates!  I might even say it's one of my new favorite fishing places.  Great fishing (the catching was pretty awesome too!), beautiful views, and the weather was fantastic!
I've said it once, and I will say it again...  little man is quite the fisherman and outfished all of us! (I'm actually not exaggerating... he literally caught more fish than any of us, and was doing it on his own, with whatever rod he picked up!)

He was landing them too!  Nice, big trout!
 Hold on to your hats!
Kimber is in on the fun too!
 Slippery little sucker!
 CHEESE!!!!

First day of bird season opens with a bang!!! (so to speak!)

September 1st is one of our favorite days of the year.  Bird season opens, the weather is fantastic and our favorite time of year is upon us.  Doesn't get much better than this!!!! I have such fond memories of years past, and this year did not disappoint!
Today we got to get out and chase snipe!  It was a great time!
