Going offline for a while!

Well, today is the day that we are sending in our computer to get it fixed. It's also a very busy week, we close on the house that we are buying on Friday, then we will paint and start moving some stuff over the weekend, and Monday upland bird season opens! Holy cow! We will make sure to put some on some updates as soon as we get the computer back from Dell! Take care everyone!

Camping at Sawmill Flats

We had a great time camping and were able to get two good loads of wood. We cut the first one and then Clint and I took it back to the cabin and dropped it off. Then we got up this morning and filled the trailer again for our friend, so we definitely got some good work done!

Dane was really great. The last time we went camping (with Pat and Linda) he had a really nasty cold so everything was a little harder and he was a little fussier than usual. This time he was feeling good and was just a champ. Tent camping with him is a little more challenging. At the cabin, there are places to put him down where he can play and we don't have to worry so much about bugs and the sun. It's also warm enough at the cabin that I can make him his own bed to sleep in. In the tent, he and I share a mummy bag. Kind of a tight fit but we make it work!
Here we are with Dane in the "hippy pack". We love it, he will just sit there so happy and content watching the world go by! (thanks again Courtney!)

The scenery up there is truly amazing. Here is another picture of our little tent. It was pretty cool to lay there and listen to the little creek!

This morning was pretty darn chilly. (just below freezing... brrrr) Here is Clint, Dane, and Kadar (dog) hanging out around the campfire. Kadar definitely would have been willing to climb into Clint's lap with Dane!!

This morning, Dane decided he needed to sleep for a little while longer! Here he is all tucked in to the cozy little nest! Looks pretty comfy!

This picture is a little fuzzy, but here is my awesome hubby helping out with the dishes!

For Lisa!

My mom is in Hawaii right now visiting Erik, Lisa, Evan, Owen, and Erica!

We miss her, but she is having a wonderful time. Sounds like she got a little too much sun... Not hard to do when you are playing in the surf. Well, she called and they had a couple requests for pictures they wanted me to post... So, here ya go!!

We are headed out camping/woodcutting tomorrow morning... I'll probably post some pictures after the weekend and then send our computer off... We hope everyone has a great weekend!

Clint's green thumb

Well, we all have certain skills and my hubby is quite the gardener. Between the squash, zucchini, and tomatoes there isn't a whole lot of room left. As you can see the cherry tomato plant is about 7 feet tall, and the squash and zucchini plants are massive.
We also had rhubarb, 3 different kinds of onions, beans, and kohlrabi. The cucumbers and cantaloupe were taken over and really didn't have a chance...
Sometimes, I refer to it as "our garden". But, I use that term loosely since really all I do is eat things from it!!!

Our computer is sick...

Well, our computer has been acting funny for a while now. I finally took the time and called Dell. It seems that it it more than my computer skill level can handle, so I have to send it in when I get the box they are sending out. The good news is that it doesn't cost a penny, and we should have it back within 2 weeks. It is a little tempermental right now, but I'm trying to get a couple posts done before I send it away...
The first one I wanted to post was the video below... (Porter, does that remind you of anyone?) Dane's little legs have finally gotten long enough to really enjoy the bouncy part of his jumparoo. I'm sure everyone's babies all did the same thing, but it's so stinkin' funny when they get it going.
Well, I'm going to publish this and I will do more later if my computer cooperates!!!

Thank you Hannah and family! I'm having so much fun!

Camping with Pat and Linda

We had such an incredible time camping out with Pat and Linda. They are such amazing people and it has been a long time since I've got to spend time with them. I'm sure everyone saw the video below of Dane giggling like crazy in the tent! He is such a ham!
The first day we got up there was great. We had a wonderful time visiting and catching up. Pat and I went for a ride and Linda, Clint and Dane hung out at camp. Dane really took a liking to Linda and they spent a lot of time "visiting"!
Dane's first ride!!! With Linda's assistance!

Here is our little tent... It seemed like a just fine tent until the Forest Service guy told us there was a sow and two cubs hanging out in the area... Then I was wishing for something a little more substantial!
Clint and Dane saying "good morning" to the horses.
Starting the day with good friends, good weather, good fire and great scenery...
Clint was so excited and couldn't wait to go for a ride! (okay, maybe not SO excited, but he was such a good sport and had a good time when we went!) Here he and Pat are out catching the horses and solving all the worlds problems!

Pat and Linda were very generous and offered to watch Dane so Clint and I could go for a little ride together. We took them up on the offer and had a great time!

The horses haven't been around babies much, so while I was getting this picture, Slip just couldn't resist taking the opportunity to smell Dane!

Going camping!

Tomorrow morning we are headed up to the Rockies to meet some friends for a little camping trip. I tried to post a funny video of Dane, but I'm not having any luck, so I'll come back to that later when I have more time! Here are a few pictures of the little man to tide everyone over in the meantime!!!

Brock and Clint went fishing!

Yesterday, Brock and Clint went down to our favorite fishing spot and caught a few bass. They only could go for a few hours in the morning before Clint had to go to work, but they had a great time!

Here is Brock proudly holding his catch!

We can't believe it's harvest time!

It's hard to believe that the end of the summer is near... Of course fall is probably our favorite time of the year so we aren't complaining! But, the wheat is already being harvested. On our way back from fishing today we decided to take a picture of the combine's working! It's kind of cool to watch, they move right along!

For those of you who haven't seen them, we've got big white pelicans here in Montana! Here is one flying up the river!

...and of course there is Dane! He woke up from a nap in the Kelty, I fed him and then he decided to hang out with Dad for a few.

Dane has 2 teeth!

I'm so excited! Dane has 2 of his bottom teeth poking through. They are just breaking the surface so I can't really take pictures of them yet... We did get pictures of him knawing on Clint's finger. He has been doing this for a while and we thought it was just his new thing!

I'm afraid him and I are going to start having "discussions" while nursing. They will go something like this, "Dane, do not bite mommy!"

This is what we do when I mowed the lawn on Monday! He hung out in his little mosquito free area while I mowed. He really enjoyed looking around and watching the world go by!

Dane's new goodies!

We were in need of a better backpack for Dane for all of our outdoor adventures. We found a Kelty on e-bay and it came in the mail on Saturday so of course we had to try it out on Sunday! We went back to the Missouri and did some fishing. The backpack worked out really well. It was comfortable for us and him. I also had this mosquito netting and as you can see we draped it all around him so we didn't have to worry about the bugs and the sunshade did pretty well keeping him out of the sun! He enjoyed the view from my back or from the ground, and was telling us lots of stories as he hung out in the shade!

As always, Clint was the superior fisherman. He caught a wide variety of fish including the sauger and catfish shown below! I only caught one fish... a little sauger. The bass that were so numerous last time didn't seem to be biting. But, we both had an incredible time. Dane's friend Hannah, and her parent's Jeremy and Kristi sent Dane a really cool rainforest jumparoo! (It's just like Porter's!) He loves all the flashing lights and music, as you can see he is having a great time!

On our way out to go fishing we saw these mulies in a wheat field. Though they weren't total monsters, 3 of the 4 were very respectable critters, and they still have a little growing to do!

Aunt Jeanne's visit!

We had such a great time with Aunt Jeanne while she was here. We did some fun things around Great Falls and then she took an overnight trip to Glacier with my Mom. Here are some pictures from her visit! Some of the views from their drive were truly breathtaking!
Here is my mom and Aunt Jeanne with Dane!

Here are a couple pictures of Dane learning to sit up! You can see my hand in one helping him, but the other one he is all on his own. He does slowly sink down though! Look at all of his extra "fluff"! He is our little "Michelin man"!

Fishing on the Missouri

Yesterday we decided to do a little fishing on the Missouri. Every time we have gone to this spot we haven't really caught all that much... A few Goldeneye maybe... (Goldeneye are considered trash fish) But, it's not too far from town and there are supposed to be some big Walleye swimming around!
So, Clint picked up some live minnows (which stayed overnight on our kitchen counter, in a jar) and off we went.
On our way out, we saw this young fox. He was right by the road and didn't seem too skittish. He better learn to be a little more careful, or someone is going to have a nice fur this winter!

The views are so pretty, especially first thing in the morning.

We actually only caught 1 walleye, but it wasn't very big. Clint did catch a sauger which is kind of a rare fish, and we also caught a bunch of bass. Some were little, but this one that Clint caught was decent sized! It was such a good time because we were actually catching fish! I don't have to catch anything to have a good time, but it's a nice bonus!
Dane was a real trooper. I forgot to bring the pack that Courtney brought us from Michigan, but luckily I had the Baby Bjorn in the car. Its a tight fit for him, but he "hung out" in it for several hours. This is how he spent a good portion of his time!
Here is the biggest fish that I caught. It is a freshwater drum and actually put up a decent fight. As you can see Dane was truly thrilled by the whole experience!!! (When he was awake I fixed his hat, but I didn't think it mattered while he was sleeping!)
On our way home we saw this antelope. He had pretty unique horns, so we had to take a picture! (I know, everyone is shocked that we would take a wildlife picture!)
