First boat trip of the year!

We lucked out yesterday and the weather was great for a trip on the boat.  It was a little windy, but we went to Holter Reservoir and were able to tuck back in a fairly protected area so it was really nice.
The fishing was decent too, we caught 7 trout and kept 5.  This was the first trip of the year on the boat and it went pretty well.  Sometimes that first trip out can be kind of interesting...  Seems like things usually get forgotten, motors don't want to start, people forget to put the plug back in the bottom of their boat!  (we saw many of these things at the boat launch...  Clint lent our bucket to a nice man who had forgotten to put his plug back in before launching!!!  But, as much as we hate to admit it, we have been there too!)

As fun days often do, the day went to fast!  We got off the water around 3 and that put us home in time to get a few things done.  Dane totally crashed once we got in the truck because he hadn't gotten his nap yet.
Here are a few pictures from our day!

Dane ready to net our catch!

Dane wasn't interested in posing next to me, but here was my first fish of the day.
Clint and Dane with a nice trout...
When we got home, Dane really wanted to see "his fish" again.  So, Clint let him help while he was filleting them.
Our son is so funny...  I think he is probably one of the few kids that thinks the fishing regulations and Cabelas magazines are actual books.  Many times that is what we "read" as our bedtime story!!!

Ethan's birthday party!

This weekend Dane got invited to a birthday party for his friend Ethan. It was such a great party... Alyssa and Eric did a wonderful job planning it. Dane and all the kids had such a good time. I didn't do very good getting pictures of the birthday boy, but here is Dane enjoying himself!

There was an awesome climbing area... the steps were too big for Dane to go up by himself so pregnant mama got to climb all over too!!! :) I think we both had a great time!

They had a water play area outside and of course Dane spent most of his time there.

The other night we had burgers for dinner and I left the ketchup out for Clint when he got home for his dinner. Dane LOVES ketchup so while I was cleaning the kitchen, he was trying to figure out how to get some out!

While I was cooking dinner... Dane was cooking with playdough!

That's about it for now... Clint has Saturday off this weekend (woohoo!) so we are going to head out to Holter with the boat and do some fishing! We are so excited!

Dane turned 2!

Yes, it's true... Mama's little boy turned 2 last week. Unfortunately, he was sick on his birthday so the celebration wasn't too wild... But, now he is enjoying all the gifts that he received! Thank you to everyone for all the great stuff!
Clint happened to have the day off, so Dane got to stay home with Dad! They went to Wal-mart together and picked out Dane's main present... a fish tank!!! Woo hoo! I must admit I'm really glad that Dane isn't old enough to get attached to his fish. Sadly, 6 out of the 7 goldfish that they got last week have perished... Hmmmmm... I'm glad we are better parents than fish owners! So far at least! :) I think we have decided that the issue was that Clint and Dane went down to Giant Springs and got spring water for the fish and we think maybe there is something natural in there that their little bodies weren't used to. Next time I guess it's tap water with the little drops!
Here is Dane with his fish!

Dane enjoyed opening his presents... but then just wanted to lay on me and cuddle. (okay, I must admit that I kind of like the cuddling part cause I don't get nearly enough of that anymore! He is so independent!)

Dane helping Dad make his birthday dinner! Yummy! (yes, that is scotch tape on his forehead... hey he was happy so who were we to complain!)

Besides that, things are great. The weather was really nice over the weekend so on Saturday we all went for a run down on the River... Poor Clint had to push Dane in the jogger, that boy is getting big! But, I was carrying the Princess, so I had an excuse to opt out! Then Dane and I just hung out, went to the park and had a good time.
Yesterday, Dane and I spent more time at the park and went down to the River for a while as well. Clint ended up catching Dane's crud though, so he just kind of hung out and tried to get healthy. I'm really hoping that my immune system can carry me through this one and I will make it through without catching it!
Now, the week is upon us again! Work is going well for both of us in a couple weeks Clint and I will start having some days off together again! I'm already excited and planning what we are going to do! Oh yeah, and we still haven't decided on a name for the Princess yet... So, we will keep everyone posted! (I also looked back on that picture of me on the River and my belly doesn't look as big as it is... so I'm going to have Clint take a picture soon and I will post it... . cause I definitely look pregnant!!!)

Enjoyed the sunshine!

Well, the weather over the weekend was spectacular! It was warm and sunny and just perfect to get out. So, when I mentioned to Clint that I wanted to go fishing, he was all for it too! (He is such a trooper, even though he is working afternoons, he still got up both days to go!)
Every spring we start fishing this spot. It's perfect because we get to hike, fish, and just enjoy getting out. (in fact, 2 years ago, almost to the day, we were fishing one Saturday and I went into labor that night!)
I was a little intimidated by Dane being mobile this year cause there is a lot of mud, cactus, and things that could cause a toddler to get into trouble!!! It was pretty funny... When we told Dane that we were going fishing he went into the garage and got his sled! We had a hard time convincing him that he wouldn't need that for this trip cause the only fishing we have been doing lately has been on the ice! Anyway, he really did great, and even though we did not catch anything we all had fun.

Here are Dane and Clint enjoying some sandwiches together!

Dane playing with a minnow that is in his bucket. That poor minnow really wasn't feeling too great when Dane was done with him...

Dane learning from the best!

Fog on the River

Some geese flying over

I had Clint take this so everyone could see how big my belly is... I guess it's about as close as I will get to a belly shot right now!

This is just a random picture of Dane and Bones... Dane wanted to take the dog for walk!

"Horn hunting"

Right now Clint and I have opposite days off. Although it kind of sucks, we make due and sometimes we go out and do fun things by ourself. That was the case for Clint last week, he headed up to the Dupuyer area on Wednesday to see if he couldn't find some "horns" or shed antlers. He had a great time, and as you can see he had some good luck.
It's such a beautiful area up there. I was bummed I couldn't go, but at least they had a great time!

A friend shared this with me today... it made me smile!

Dear Fortune Cookie Manufacturer, I'd like to take this opportunity to inform you about the importance of punctuation in our culture. I was very offended when I received my latest fortune that read, "What gets bigger the more you take away from it A hole"...
