Dane's fort!

The other day I brought the pack 'n play into the living room. Well, I had a great idea and covered it in blankets so Dane and I would have a fort. Well, that was the best idea I have had in a while cause it had given us hours of fun!!! A little hide and seek makes us all happy!

Peek a boo!

Hanging out inside!

One of Dane's "looks". He's got a bunch of good one's right now!!!

So, besides playing in forts, what are we up to?
Well, today we had a great day with Grandma, went to the Farmers Market, the park and then did our weekly shopping. Tomorrow is the house keeping day... Clean and catch up on laundry, pack our bags, hang out with Clint. Monday, Dane and I are flying to Michigan to visit my sister, Courtney, and her family. We are super excited, but we are going to miss Clint like crazy. But, someones got to stay and hold down the fort. (so to speak!!!) Clint isn't just going to sit at home missing us... He is going camping/fishing with Brock at Holter. They are going to have a great time!
Well, we hope everyone has a great week!

Another great day on the water!

So, we were supposed to do projects all weekend, but you know what they say about all work and no play... so we decided to go fishing today! We were lucky enough to have Brock join us again and I think we all had a good time.
It started out windy but we found a little protection and started catching fish. The walleyes were biting well to start and we ended up with 14. We also caught 2 nice trout.
Once again, Brock did awesome with his broken arm. Here he is netting a really nice Rainbow that Clint caught.

Brock is excited about his big trout!

Good job Brock! Here they are with his big trout!Clint spotted a group of Rocky Mountain Sheep and here is a fairly young lamb.
There is a prairie dog colony out there and here is one of them checking us out as we go by...

Dane was worn out... Here we are headed back in after a wonderful day!

A day with Grandma!

Friday my mom and I both had the day off and we had a great time together. To start the day, Dane and I got up and went for our run, (he had the easier part of that deal!) and then we spent a few minutes with Clint before he went to bed. (He got home from work about 0930... gotta love overnights) Then we went over to Grandma's and picked her up. Well, of course as soon as we started driving Dane fell asleep. We wanted him to be in a good mood, so we decided to take a drive out to Benton Lake Wildlife Refuge and let him sleep while we took in the sights. We saw a lot of cool critters, here are a couple of them...
A rock-chuck snacking on some grass
A blue heron fishing in the shallows

We did all of our weekly shopping and we also went to the park... Here are grandma and Dane checking out the birds.

Swinging!
As I said we had a great day... Dane truly enjoyed his special time with Grandma!

Fishing at Holter!

This morning we got up super early, picked up Brock, and headed to Holter Reservoir to fish. The weather was phenomenal and the fishing was great! It couldn't have been more perfect!
We ended up limiting on Walleye (15 total), we caught 1 perch, and one large rainbow trout. The walleye were little, but they were biting like crazy. Brock did really well and Dane enjoyed having him along. (especially on the drive there and home... Dane couldn't quit smiling at him!!) Here are some pictures from our day.
Dane loves to poke their eyes!!! Here he is checking out a walleye!

Clint and Brock hooked these two fish right away. A great perch and rainbow trout. I must admit it was a little chaotic right when they hooked them, but they both landed their fish!

Here are the boys headed out to go fishing!

Brock driving the boat! He did great, and was such a trooper with his broken arm!
Dane also did really well. However, the combination of a really early morning, poking fish, and pointing at birds wore him out. Here he is trying to find a good spot to lay down. However, he couldn't get comfortable and kept getting up and rearranging.

Two tired boys!!!

Dane

I thought I would post some pictures and updates about our little man... and what a busy little guy he is!!! He is into everything and has started asserting his little will... Darn, I was hoping that wouldn't be for a while, but he has his own ideas about how to do things! He's learning how to hold our hands when we are in parking lots or stores (when he would much rather run and explore without us in tow!), how to use a big boy fork, and I swear that I see little devil horns sprouting out of his head at various times throughout the day! His expressions are also developing like crazy and he makes the funniest eyes at us. I haven't had the opportunity to catch pictures of them, but as soon as I do I will share!
Here is Dane and Grandma
Dane and Grandpa playing on the floor
Dane going down the slide at the park
Chasing a bird... I swear he could do this for hours! Oh well, cheap entertainment!
Climbing the stairs for another go at the slide
Anyway, that's it for now... Dane's sleeping and I'm relaxing for a few before going to bed. I hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Independence Day!!! (a day late!)

Well, we hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. We got to go up to the cabin on Thursday and then we came home yesterday afternoon because Clint had to work last night. We had such a great time, it was hard to come back.
Thursday was beautiful and hot. We had some friends up to the cabin with their kids. We went down to the lake and had a fun time in the water, swimming, catching crawdads, and throwing rocks into the water! After dinner at the cabin our friends camped down at the water and then left the next morning. Friday was cloudy and cool so we decided to drive up Sun Canyon and visit some other friends that were camping up there. After fishing we went to their camp and it was so good to see them, we haven't seen them for 2 years, so it was super fun to catch up and we ended up having dinner with them before heading back to the cabin. Yesterday, we went for a hike in the morning to check out a little pond (see if there were any fish) and then we cleaned the cabin and went swimming again. Dane was even braver this time in the water and enjoyed going deep with me. However, when we tried putting the life jacket on him to let him float, he didn't like it at all. Then he was cruising along the beach carrying some things and tripped hitting his chin and biting his lip. I must say, he did get some boo-boos over the weekend with all the exploring and new adventures he had. He is quite the trooper though, and after the initial scare he was usually right back at it.
As you can see we had a busy but fun weekend. Clint had to work last night and since Dane is so young and I didn't think he would miss the fireworks if we didn't go, we just hung out and went to bed early. He was pretty worn out from the fun filled weekend and today we are just cleaning house and getting ready for the week.
Here are some pictures from the weekend!
Here are some of the monster craw-dads that Clint caught.
(I only caught one cause I was on Dane duty most of the time!)
Dane and I enjoying the water
Dane playing with his very own craw-dad. Clint took off the claws and let Dane play with it. Surprisingly, he didn't put it in his mouth and it escaped alive!!! Lucky little bugger.

We also put Dane to work cleaning at the cabin. Boys gotta earn his keep!!! lol
