Our first 10K!

Today was the Ulm Pishkun Run. We have been training pretty well and decided to do the 10K. (6.2 miles). My goal was to run the entire thing without walking and we were able to do that. Clint was awesome and stuck with me for the whole run, even though he could have gone faster! It was a pretty small race, I'd say that there were about 75 people for the 3 events. There was a 3 mile, a 10K, and a 1/2 marathon. It was a good group, everyone was really friendly and encouraging.

Here we are after the race. (yes, we're smiling so that is a good sign!)

Here's the finish line.

The weather was phenomenal... We couldn't have asked for better. It was sunny and warm with light winds.
The only bad part was this beastly hill... I wanted to walk really bad when we were going up it but I was able to stay motivated...
I do have to say I was one happy girl when I got to the top! (This picture is a little blurry, but I think you get the idea!)

While we were running, Dane got to hang out with Grandma. He had such a good time with her (as always) and they must have played together the entire time cause he was worn out when we got home! (As were we!)

Just a couple pictures of Dane!

I will have more pictures to post in the next few days, but to tide everyone over, I thought I'd share a couple photos of our little man!
He wore himself out!!!

As always, the cow continues to be a favorite and he smiles and coos at it constantly! (Thanks Uncle Harley and Aunt Toni!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Hands taste good!!!

This is the newest thing... even if he just ate he is frequently trying to consume his fists...
and if one doesn't work, try pushing with the other one and maybe you can get it in this way!!!

It keeps on raining!!

It has been raining for the last 5 days straight. I'm not talking about a little drizzle or scattered showers. So, what is there to do when it rains like this...
Well, if you are Clint, you take the opportunity to gather up dozens of night crawlers. (He may not appreciate me putting these pictures on the blog, but I had to cause they made me laugh... Especially the sandals and rolled up pants... HOT!)

Or, you sit on the floor entertaining Bones and Dane!
Well, despite all the excitement at home, we did make it up to the cabin to do some work, but you only can be in a 16x20 cabin for so long before you get a little crazy.
Then, even with the rain we decided to brave it and go for a run down on the river. The dams have more water flowing through than we have ever seen. When we first arrived at the pull-out, the alarm was sounding warning people that so much water was going over. Here are a few pictures, and for Montana I assure you this is a lot of water...

Here is Rainbow Dam (below Great Falls)

and here is the Black Eagle Dam (right in Great Falls)

Here are a couple pictures of the baby geese (goslings) that are all along the river right now. These are the resident geese (live in Great Falls all year). They get fed by people all the time so they aren't as skittish as non-resident geese.

After a couple pictures, momma goose got a little testy, so I decided that was enough!

Dane's new toy!

Dane is becoming more and more active each day. We do as much as possible to keep him entertained and to foster his excitement and curiosity. Well, I was able to pick up a "Johnny Jump Up". Though he is kind of little, he really enjoys it! He doesn't jump hard yet, but he pushes up, turns around, and just has a great time!

The only problem with this is that if we aren't paying good enough attention, Dane is at the perfect height for Bones to have full access... As you can see, Bones is VERY generous with his kisses. Dane loves supervising from this angle as well!
Grandpa is getting a little "Dane time"...

Spencer's first fish!

This morning Clint went fishing with one of his buddies, Nick and Nick's son, Spencer. It was a great day cause Spencer caught his very first fish... Look at this beautiful brown trout that he caught on his awesome Spiderman pole!

It's hot, but the water's nice and cool!!!

Well, summer seems to have set in! (or Montana is giving us a little taste... next week it will probably snow) The temps for the last few days have been in the high 80's and low 90's.

We were down by the River... and found this "buzzworm" swimming across the River. Needless to say we let him cross but got a couple pictures!

Dane's fashion statements!

Here are some of the recent outfits we put Dane in!
First, we got the poor guy all dressed up in mittens, a cute little Pooh hat and a great windbreaker outfit that I got him... It was a chilly day and we wanted to make sure he stayed warm on our run! He seemed to enjoy it, but the hat was a little too big and fell over his eyes so then he just went to sleep.

So, I was kind of worried about putting Dane in the front pack facing forward. There are warnings all over that say that he needs to be able to sit up on his own... Well, he isn't quite there yet, so I called my sis who is a babywearing pro (thank you Courtney) and she said, if he doesn't like it he will let you know! Well, great advice, cause he LOVED it! He looked around and was totally intrigued! It was so fun seeing how much he enjoyed watching the world! The front of the pack also sits high enough so when his neck gets tired, he just rests his chin on it.

It was a little bright out so his eyes were kind of squinted shut in this picture! (In the next photo you will see how we are going to remedy that!!!)

Here he is trying on some sunglasses that I picked up for him! They still have the sticker on them in this picture, but I wanted to make sure he would wear them before I took off the tags! It took a little getting used to, but I think he'll wear them this summer!

Mother's Day at the Cabin!

I'd like to say Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there! I know it's a day late, but we got home too late last night for me to put up a post!

My first Mother's Day was a lot of fun... First of all I got spoiled. Thank you so much to everyone for the phone calls and well wishes. Dane was even thoughtful enough to get me something... (thank you Clint!)

My In-laws also sent me these beautiful flowers!

Of course I didn't get to lounge in bed eating Bon-bons all day... Clint did put me to work at the cabin. We got the cabinet built and also got all the trim put up. (I was a lot happier than this picture makes me look! Clint just said my name and then snapped the photo!)

Before I start with pictures of Dane, I had to put on a picture of our other "baby". Bones still takes every opportunity to crawl in my lap!

Look at all the work Clint did! The paint and drywall looks great!

Here's Clint working on the cabinet!

Here are the boys watching the world go by!

And of course I've got to put on some pictures of Dane!!!
Here he is supervising our work!

I just can't get over the smiles!

Living up to his nickname!!!

We took Dane in for his 2 month check up today. He is doing really well and surprised us all when we put him on the scale. Clint and I took bets, and both of us guessed too light.

Dane tipped the scales at a whopping 14 lbs 14 oz. WOW!!!

Needless to say, he is living up to his nickname "the forklift"!

The bad part about his visit today was that he had to get shots... That was hard for me and luckily Clint was there to hold Dane during the process so I could just comfort him afterwards. He took it pretty well (probably better than me...) and now he is just sleeping, recovering from the whole ordeal!
Here are a few pictures of the little man (I'm going to have to quit calling him that!)
Gotta love this onesie that Nana made him! He's sure happy in it!

Look at those... muscles???
This morning sure tired him out...
